Bed Bugs

A Bed Bug

Bed bugs and bed bug infestations are among the most common pest control problems in Connecticut. If you suspect that you have a bed bug problem, please call us immediately.

Bed bugs feed on human blood and sometimes go months in between feedings. Bed bugs often hide in mattresses and box springs but can also be found in carpets and baseboards in bedrooms. They hide in these areas and wait until they have easy access to their hosts.

Signs of bed bugs:

  • Bites on exposed skin
  • Bed bug skin castes
  • Blood stains on your sheets
  • Fecal matter and eggs on the bed seams
  • Live bed bugs– if you find a bug save it so it can be identified

Where bed bugs hide:

  • In cracks/crevices in protected locations within 5 to 10 feet of their host
  • Along the seam of mattresses and box springs
  • Bed frames, headboards and other bedroom furniture
  • Cracked woodwork or paneling
  • Chairs and couches especially those used for sleeping
  • Under the edges of carpeting
  • Window and door frames
  • Anywhere they can hide and not be found

The best way to prevent a bed bug infestation is to catch it early and get help!
