Insulation for Energy Efficiency, Heat Retention & Pest Control

TAP Insulation

Did you know that a properly insulated home can keep energy costs down and pests out? It’s true. We’re pleased to announce that we now offer TAP Insulation, a truly unique product, to homeowners in New Haven, Litchfield and Fairfield counties.

TAP Insulation offers the benefits of lower energy costs and pest-control treatments year-round. TAP Insulation will keep your home cooler in the summertime and warmer in the winter and your attic clean and pest-free all year.

In fact, TAP Insulation offers 32% higher efficiency over traditional fiberglass insulation; is mold, fire, and mildew-resistant, and is the only certified pest-control product with an Energy Star Rating.

Energy Star Rated TAP Insulation

TAP Insulation keeps pests like ants, cockroaches and termites out of your attic because it contains borates that pests ingest, dying shortly thereafter. Since TAP Insulation is considered an active pest-control product, it can only be installed by a certified pest-control professional.

Attic Cleanup & Damage Repair

Bat Guano and Animal Fecal Matter Removal

Bat Guano in an Attic

After animals have done their worst to your attic, our technicians can not only remove rodent, raccoon, squirrel and bat fecal matter, we’ll also clean, sanitize and re-insulate the area.

You’ll be left with a clean, animal-free attic with excellent insulation, saving you money each and every month.

Since many homeowners are unfamiliar with pest-control insulation, we’ve assembled a list of frequently asked questions about TAP Insulation and the installation process.

  1. Does TAP replace my current insulation?
No, TAP does not replace your current insulation; rather it is blown in atop the current insulation to form a complete barrier to keep pests out and energy costs down. However, if your current insulation has been destroyed by animal fecal matter, our technicians must remove it entirely before installing TAP Insulation.
  2. How is TAP installed?
Envirocare Installs TAP InsulationThe first step in our installation process is preparing your attic by cleaning and removing pest fecal matter, dirt, dust, and debris from the area. Our certified pest-control technicians will install TAP Insulation via a machine that blows the insulation on top of your existing insulation (if it is in good condition). TAP Insulation covers nooks and crannies other insulation methods miss because it is blown on to ensure maximum coverage.
  3. How much does TAP cost?
The cost of installing TAP Insulation depends on the size of the area being treated, the amount of coverage needed, and several other factors. An Envirocare technician will give you a complete quote after completing an inspection of the area or areas of your home that are being treated.
  4. Is TAP safe to use around children and pets?
Yes. TAP poses a low risk to humans and other mammals because borates—the active pest-control ingredient in TAP Insulation—have a very low toxicity for mammals. In addition, since TAP Insulation is applied behind walls and in attics, it reduces the likelihood that children and pets will encounter the insulation.
  5. Does TAP affect mice, rats or squirrels?
No. TAP Insulation is only deadly to insects like ants, roaches and silverfish. It does not affect mice, rodents or other mammal pests. We recommend traditional pest-control methods in conjunction with TAP Insulation to offer a full service pest-control solution.
